Prince Avenue Christian School was founded in 1978 as a ministry of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.

Since its inception, PRINCE has outgrown its original facilities and has moved to the new campus located in Oconee County. The commitment to a high standard of Christian education, spiritual growth, and development of godly character remains the same.

We encourage every parent to become involved at Prince Avenue Christian School. We see the education process as a partnership of three – the school, the parents, and the child. Our prayer is that each child’s experience here will be a highlight in their educational and spiritual journey.

Who We Are

Prince Avenue Christian School provides a comprehensive college preparatory education with a Christian worldview for students in preschool through twelfth grades. We strive to equip our students with the truth, understanding, and discernment leading to life-changing transformation as they pursue the mind of Christ.

Founded 1978 as an educational ministry of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, the school is located on a new campus in Bogart, Georgia, and serves the surrounding community with nearly 500 students from thirteen different counties and over 100 different churches.

Accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, we offer a challenging curriculum in a stimulating educational environment with such traditional courses in mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts. Our core curriculum is supplemented with classes in the fine arts and physical education which encourage the expression of creativity and the development of athletic skills.

As they complete their Prince Avenue education, our students have been given the spiritual, academic, and emotional preparation to face the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. With Biblical integration woven into the curriculum, opportunities for ministry and community service, and teachers who model Christ, our school community is infused with a Biblical worldview as we develop fully devoted followers of Christ.

Academically, our students consistently score high on the SAT, ACT, and Stanford Achievement tests, and compete favorable in academic competitions. Our graduates have been accepted at numerous universities and colleges, and are well prepared for the rigors of the expanded academic challenges. We also offer an extensive athletic program, and our teams compete in the Georgia High School Association Region 8-A in a variety of boys and girls sports. Our music, band, art and drama programs provide increasing opportunities for students to use their talents and express their creativity for God’s glory.

At Prince Avenue Christian School, we assist our students in developing Biblical wisdom and discernment as they pursue excellence in academics, the fine arts and athletics.

In Roman’s 12:2, Paul speaks to the foundation of Christian education: to be transformed through the renewing of the mind. At Prince Avenue Christian School our desire is to challenge our students to pursue the mind of Christ as they learn about life and the world in which they live. Transformation occurs as students come to know the Truth--Jesus Christ--and learn truth which is an understanding of reality as God sees it.

Scripture provides the basis of understanding truth, and is integrated into the all areas of our academic curriculum and co-curricular activities. We provide a stimulating academic environment which encourages students to embrace Truth as they engage their community and world. Our teachers, who seek to model Christ through their teaching and leadership, encourage our students to reach their full potential in Christ through academic excellence, creative expression, athletic challenges, and social responsibility and ministry.

Educational Philosophy

PRINCE is an educational ministry of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and is committed to assisting parents with their God-ordained responsibility of training their children for life. To assure that our families are in agreement with the intent of our philosophy, we only accept children whose parents are in agreement with our foundational beliefs. In this education alliance, the parents, the school, and church leadership work together to provide quality Christian education as well as an atmosphere where there is a wholesome spirit of grace and truth, always giving Jesus Christ His place as Lord and Savior.

We believe the following:

  • Prince Avenue Christian School celebrates the admonition to "train a child in the way he should go " (Proverbs 22:6). We know this includes a well-balanced and high quality education that is based on a Biblical foundation. Prince Avenue Christian School is a college preparatory program that provides parents and students of the Athens area a distinct Christ-centered, Biblically based education.
  • Because we believe that children are truly "a gift from the Lord" (Psalms 127:3), our purpose is to train and inspire our students to obey and live for Jesus Christ in a secular society.
  • We believe that all truth is God's truth, whether in social studies, geography, science, math, literature or the arts, and that Jesus Christ and His teachings are central to all learning and living. Therefore, we strive to prepare our students for life by infusing Biblical values and principles into academic lessons (Proverbs 1:7).
  • We believe that obedience is the heart of character training which will cultivate an inner self-control as the student matures. We believe these to be essential to the emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of each student (Joshua 1:8).
  • We believe that the standards of Prince Avenue Christian School are easier to maintain when the students' and parents' attitudes are in agreement with the school's philosophies and policies. This cooperation helps to support the stands we strive to enforce.
  • We believe that this type of training will best equip the students for their role in God's plan and for their proper places in society (Philippians 1:27).
  • Prince Avenue Christian School believes that in order to provide the best academic and spiritual training, we must make certain exclusions. We, therefore, choose not to accept for enrollment students who are not in good standing with the institution in which they are presently and/or previously enrolled, or students who have needs that cannot be met by PRINCE.
  • Scripture promises that if we "train a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). It is our vision that the young people at Prince Avenue Christian School will go on to influence their generation for Christ.
  • Our school verse is: "Being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts" (II Corinthians 3:2-3 NAS).
  • We believe the local church needs and must be supported and believers should encourage each other (Hebrews 10:23-25).
