Educational Support Services
This diagnosis must be noted on a psycho-educational evaluation that is no more than three years old. The program strives to help each student embrace talents and abilities, with a realization that struggles in life are a way that God works in and through us. The goal of the program is to maximize strengths in each student, in an effort to achieve academic success within the regular classroom, with a focus on each student as a child of God, created uniquely for His work. As stated in the handbook, any academic support (accommodations, classes, tutoring, etc.) needed by a student which is beyond that offered in the regular classroom, is the responsibility of the parent. This program allows the opportunity for a student to receive such services within the school building, as approved by the administration, and include the following:
Consultative sessions offer individual advocacy, as well as assisted communication between the student, parents, and teachers. This is appropriate for students who need a “Go-To” person and is provided at a rate of $60/hour.
Individual Classes meet daily and offer a curriculum which is based on an individual student’s needs at an annual rate of $4,250.
Small Group Classes meet daily and offer individualized instruction based on a student’s needs, however are taught in a small group setting at an annual rate of $3,150.
Small Group Middle School Study Skills Classes meet daily during a student’s regular study hall time. This time offers help with homework, test prep, and organization at an annual rate of $800.
The Learning Center may be used as a place for taking test in a quiet, distraction free environment, as well as to receive accommodations such as extra time, test read aloud, etc. at an annual rate of $500.
Tutoring Services are offered on a regular or as-needed basis, at a rate of $42/hour for a tutor with a Bachelor’s Degree and $48/hour for a tutor with a Master’s Degree.
A yearly Case Management Fee of $75 is charged for any student with a current evaluation on file and is charged in August.
All annual fees are pro-rated and post monthly on the Family Account Statement. All tutoring fees post monthly for the previous month’s services.
