Scripture provides the basis of understanding God’s truth. The education students receive at Prince Avenue Christian School begins building this foundation in the preschool years.

First - Second Grades

Curriculum

Students continue to build on the foundation laid in Preschool and Kindergarten. They hone their phonics and fluency skills using BJU Reading. They continue Handwriting Without Tears as well as CSI Bible. They also begin Shurley Grammar/English in 1st Grade which is continued through the 4th grade. Science and Social Studies are both taught through units using a very hands-on approach. Students continue to be taught Math using Houghton Mifflin, which builds critical thinking skills as well as ensuring the foundation of fundamental Math is set.

Enrichment Courses

1st and 2nd grade students have the opportunity to take the following classes:
