Elementary Art K4-5
This course is designed with a discipline based approach to Art. Students will create original works of art in a variety of media, participate in art critiques, and be introduced to important historical figures in art, art movements, and multicultural art. Student art work will be displayed throughout the school year. Select works of student art will be chosen for display at the Oconee County School District Art Exhibition and ACSI Art Festivals.

Drawing 1 & 2
This class will focus on the elements of art; line, shape, space, color, value, texture, and form. Emphasis will be put on creativity, self-expression, technical skill, and craftsmanship. A variety of drawing and painting media will be used in this class, focusing mostly on direct observation (drawing from life). Students will be encouraged to expand their visual language by journaling in their sketchbooks as much as possible. Students will have the opportunity to receive a basic knowledge of Art History, its movements, periods, styles, and artists. All learning material will be discovered through the pursuit of our Lord Jesus by artistic means.
Printmaking 1
Students will assemble and create prints by manipulating printmaking media and by organizing images with the elements and principles. They will experience and use a variety of media, including current arts-related media such as Photoshop and digital imaging. Students will also analyze the expressive potential of printmaking media, techniques, and processes. (They will have the opportunity to participate in field trips to the High Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City during the year of the Carnegie Hall chorus event.)
Printmaking 2
Students will continue to assemble and create prints by manipulating printmaking media as they did in Printmaking 1. This course will teach them to analyze prints in regards to the use of art elements and principles. They will examine the functions of printmaking and how to interpret prints. Students will analyze and compare prints using a variety of aesthetic approaches and evaluate printmaking based on forming techniques, effective use of art elements and principles, impact of content, expressive qualities, and aesthetic significance. (They will have the opportunity to participate in field trips to the High Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City during the year of the Carnegie Hall chorus event.)
