Elementary Music K-5

This course is designed with a spiral curriculum approach to teaching music.  The fundamentals of music, including proper pitch production, interval recognition, rhythm recognition and performance, use of dynamic markings, reading, singing and playing music begin at basic preschool levels and advance each year through 5th grade.  Students participate in all aspects of music making both in class and through public performance  such as Fine Arts Night, Spring Musical, and Statewide Elementary Honors Chorus.

Choral

Middle School Performing Arts

This course is designed as a combination class of music, drama, and choreography.  Students will learn proper vocal technique, music theory, fundamentals of drama, and basic choreography, all of which will prepare them for musical theatre.  Students will perform in school concerts and may perform in community or church events.  Students are encouraged to audition for school productions. Students will have the opportunity to participate in district or state choral events.

High School Chorus

This course includes the study of vocal technique, music history, music theory, and cultures through singing a variety of choral literature in a large ensemble setting.  Students will perform in school concerts and may perform in community or church events. Each year students participate in choral events in locations such as Disney World or New York City’s Carnegie Hall.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in district or state choral events.
