Homecoming Events

Prince Avenue Christian School students are ready to show their school spirit October 17-21, with a full week of activities scheduled to celebrate Homecoming 2011!   This year’s theme is“Wolverines Go All Out to Beat the Tigers”

The varsity cheerleaders have planned a fun-filled week of special dress up days and spirit contests to generate enthusiasm and excitement for the football team's game against Commerce on Friday, October 21.  The annual Pre-Growl Block Party and Wolverine Growl pep rally on Thursday provides an opportunity for Prince families and alumni to join in the festivities.

All Prince Avenue families and friends are  welcome to come to the annual Block Party on Thursday,  October 20 from 6:15 - 7:15 for free pizza and fellowship on “Prince Avenue” (the road that cuts through our campus).  Please bring sidewalk chalk to decorate this street to show  Wolverine Spirit! The Wolverine Growl Pep Rally follows the block party, beginning at7:30 pm in the Wolverine Gymnasium.

All students, from pre-kindergarten to the twelfth grades, are encouraged to participate in the Homecoming Dress-up Days. (For all dress up days…if you are not dressed appropriately and modestly you will have to change into something else. And as always, for the entire week remember the too rule – not too tight, not too loose, not too long, and not too short!  The dress-up days are as follows:

Monday: “Peace Out”  Let’s Get Groovy Man….time to show Commerce who’s FAB!!! Wear your 60’s threads and get ready to Hang Loose!
Tuesday:  “Far Out” Let’s take the Wolverines to another Galaxy, far, far away…who knows who you’ll encounter in space, maybe Zenon, ET, ewoks, planets, stars or even astronauts…Beam me up Farriba!!!
Wednesday:  “Steppin Out” Wolverines are steppin out in style!  Dress to Impress in your fanciest attire.  Tiaras, tuxes, ball gowns, bow ties, boas, Hollywood Glitz…bring out the bling cause we’re Steppin Out on some Tiger Tails!
Thursday:   “Take Out” Let’s “Drive through” and “Take Out” the Tigers…. Dress as your favorite fast food worker, combo, or entrée.  Be creative…you can be behind the counter and dress as a fast food worker or in the take out bag as a food item such as french fries, ketchup, pizza or even a napkin. What’ll ya have?  A Victory against Commerce!
Friday:   “All Out for the Wolverines”

*These are just suggestions; students can be creative and come up with other ideas, but please stick to the theme.  For all dress up days…if you are not dressed appropriately and modestly you will have to change into something else. Costumes may include knee length shorts or leggings under shorts. Absolutely NO short shorts or strapless dresses, etc. On Friday, which is normal spirit day, students can  wear shorts, but they must be Lands’ End uniform shorts. And as always, for the entire week remember thetoo rule – not too tight, not too loose, not too long, and not too short!
