Lower School:

Lower School Teacher

Lower School Teacher Prince Avenue Christian School is currently accepting applications for a position of Lower School Teacher (K-5)

 

Overview:  The primary function of this position is to teach students in a self-contained classroom. The grade of the students could vary depending on the abilities of the applicant.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the lower school principal, and academic dean to prepare course syllabus and curriculum for the assigned grade.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Develop a rapport with students that motivates and fosters enthusiasm for learning.
  • Creatively integrate technology in the classroom to enhance teaching.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and school goals.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student work.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress.
  •  Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress, rehearsals, and productions.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • All faculty and staff are expected to play a formative role in the spiritual lives of students. This includes integration of a biblical worldview into their subject matter and lessons.

 

Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.
  • Bachelors or higher degree in elementary education.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of RenWeb, and proficiency in Smartboard and one to one technology preferred.

Lower School Art Teacher (part-time)

Prince Avenue Christian School is currently accepting applications for a part-time position of Lower School Art Teacher.

 

Overview: The primary function of this position is to teach art to Pre-K to 5th-grade students.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the fine arts director, lower school principal, and academic dean to prepare course syllabus and curriculum for lower school art classes.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Develop a rapport with students that motivates and fosters enthusiasm for the arts.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student work.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress, rehearsals, and productions.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work with staff, parents, administration, and community.

Middle School/High School Bible Teacher

Overview: The primary function of this position is to teach Bible to middle school and high school students.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Middle School Principal, High School Principal, and Academic Dean to prepare course syllabus and curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Develop a rapport with students that motivates and fosters enthusiasm.
  • Creatively integrate technology in the classroom to enhance teaching.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and school goals.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student work.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • All faculty and staff are expected to play an integral role in the spiritual lives of students. This includes integration of a Biblical worldview into their subject matter and lessons.

Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.
  • Experience working with praise team musicians is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Masters of Divinity degree preferred.
  • Middle school and/or high school teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of RenWeb, and proficiency in technology preferred.

Prince Avenue Christian School is currently accepting applications for a full-time position of Middle School Math.

 

Teacher Overview: The primary function of this position is to teach mathematics to middle school students, and to foster the students’ enthusiasm for mathematics.
